In the 2010 draft the Bills biggest need was at OT and at QB and since they didnt adress those positions last year until round 5 and 7, they are still the Bills biggest needs in the 2011 Draft. So the orginazation selects Locker who fits in Gailey offensive system and can be the face of the franchise for years to come.
NFL Comparison- Jake Plummer
Team Needs- OT, QB, OLB, WR
Jake Locker would have been the #1 pick in the 2010 draft if he decided to come out. There's no way that changes in 2011. I can't see the Bills passing on a chance at a franchise QB.
Other possible pick: Marcell Dareus- could help anchor there new 3-4.
I think the Redskins are a very good team, but their schedule will not allow them to advance into the post season. So Locker is going to be their QB of the future? Could happen. He is alot like Jay Cutler in personality and from a talent perspective, obviously locker is faster but Cutler was more consistent in colelge and he was pro style groomed in college. Jake Locker cannot start for a while but the upside is crazy to say the least. My guess is he ends up busting because almost every freak of nature quarterback prospect buts's. Go look at the history of elite speed or freak armed quarterbacks they bust almost every time.
My favorite of last year was Mallett but for now i go with the consensus top QB.
2nd round : Matt Reynolds, OT, BYU
3rd round : DeVier Posey, WR, Ohio St
Jake Locker slips further then expected like QB's do every year. This pick is for the future cause Vince Young is a free agent and i think his year isnt gonna be good enough to get a new contract.
2nd Round Pick Mike Pouncey OG/C Titans could use a young verstatile guy up on the o-line plus i think a couple of their playes contracts are up.
The Bills finally roll the dice on a QB. Chan Gailey is wanting to run a spread offense in the NFL and Locker can do it. 2nd round pick - DeMarcus Love, LT, Razorbacks
Bills continue to draft olineman and try to form a cohesive unit.
The bills need a QB. They just had anyone on there roster step up and be an efficient starter.
The Bills need a franchise QB. Enter: Jake Locker. He is a bit raw, but there is no reason he can't be an elite QB within a few years. He won't have many weapons to throw to in the backfield in Buffalo, but he can be the face of the franchise there.
If the Bills are smart, they will tank on purpose. Great year for QB's.
